Absolutely right. Most audiences now-a-days will go ballistic if bands diverge away from a song or improvises over a groove. People used to go to shows to hear music. Now people basically go to shows to SEE the band play the same songs they listen to on their iPod. Led Zeppelin and Allman Brothers are my two favorite live acts because they go any where and show off their musicianship in an awesome way. BTW, I'm only 16 and am trying to lead the classic rock/blues revolution we need! \m/

are you serious? sure the punk thing was great, but look where we are now?! The music fuckin blows now, and anybody that IS making good music is either broke and unheard of, or semi-pro and barley making a living. Nobody appreciates musical talent and improvisation.

Waited till the end, and what a wait! Rated this incredible, but INDESCRIBABLE would be better. Nothing like a guitar "god" giving credit where credit is due: Duane is positively otherworldly during his "Circle Be Unbroken" solo!

@Skyman46 I was told by a man that works at the big house , they are saving these videos for there retirement

Thanks Scotia Dave! As others have said, anything with Duane in it is priceless! I saw an interview with the guy who bought the Big House who said they were in the process of s l o w l y and painstakingly trying to piece together BOXES of old,old film...apparently there is quite a lot of it, but it disintegrates over the years. I hope profits from the museum will go toward helping to restore that treasure trove.

It's great to see young people who enjoy this improv jamming. Duane was a pioneer for sure and one of a kind. Dickie Betts ,in my opinion, is highly under rated.
Duane is definitely large and in charge on this video but Dickie is the one hittin' the notes and playing most of the lead.

End of an era.....can't remember how many times I saw the ABB, but sadly without Duane....RIP
The Eat a Peach version was always the "Mastered" version of mountain jam to me, this one's the improv version, just my opinion.

Awsome footage; great job.
To the younsters that want to lead the 'back to real music revolution': Duane, the most soulfull guitarist ever, when asked how he felt about the revolution (of the '60's), said: there is no revolution man, there is only evolution. :)

Wow, thanks Dave. Really great synch job. I saw the whole band twice, once with Berry. It really brings back great memories.

How odd that two of them will meet their demise on the same road! Duane is a god!

@Scotiadave would love to hear the story dave. once again.. thanks for this treasure!
Thanks Scotiadave, this is too good to be true...the question is why doesn't Gregg Allman have these videos cleaned up and sell it as one?

They have them, and some have been cleaned up, but there is astronomical costs involved dealing with the reels. Maybe one day ..... until then, we'll have to suffer these teasers :-) Dave

I'm beginning to get suspicions that there is a lot more too, and that the band's organization aren't to fussed about letting us see it .... or know about it.
