@niflap Clutch works as a Plan 9 from outer Space type show for me. it's funny because it doesn't work. of course, discovering the show at the end of a generic DVD of a lost Captain Harlock dub (talk about contrast) from East/West didn't exactly make the show seem any less weird.

@mightyfilm This show seemed characterized by the way it mixed genres, which can be a boom or bust. Like jonny quest(though not to the same degree) it tried to present itself as an adventure show, but it threw in a lot of cartoony stuff, like the way the rocket was anthropamorphized when it was trying to blast off. Its contusions were like something out of a loony tune, like the way it "huffed, & puffed", struggled to unstick. Contrast can be good, but it's not guaranteed 2B.
