Though Kenya's major cities have gleaming shopping malls and 24-hour big box supermarkets, the only option for the average African village remains the traditional open-air market.
The weekly market at Ahero is no exception. Every Tuesday, thousands flock from as many as 100 kilometers away to the small farm town outside Kisumu to shop for or hawk their goods: everything from food to fish guts to live stock to clothes.
