I dropped by Commerce, California to see what was up, and there was a doublestack switching. Closer look revealed a lashup of 5 Norfolk Southern locomotives (#2647, #9522, #8727, #9017, #9919) with a BNSF Warbonnet Dash 9 (#625) on the point. Another doublestack arrived when this eastbound train highballed out of Commerce.

Second clip is at Fullerton, of the same train. As it departs and accelerates, westbound Amtrak Pacific Surfliner departs toward Los Angeles Union Station.

  • Just jumped here from your Jan. 16 2010 NS posting. Are you running a newer, better camera now (2010) if so, can I ask what equip't. it is?

  • Yup. I used a 1998 vintage 8mm video camera made by RCA for this clip. I now use a 2 year old technology Canon ZR series, with DV tape (it's almost obsolete already!)
