I've only just discovered Ted today and then quite by accident. Since then I have listened to almost all of his music posted on Youtube. Very, very glad I stumbled across him. Have also sent an email link to my son. I'm pretty sure he'll like Ted as well.

Ted played in open tuning so typically all the chords will be major with no color notes (7ths, etc). The 7th you hear is in his voice and perhaps the backing instruments.

funny who this song keeps back and back .but this guy is just great.

Ted Hawkins use to sing on the beach at Venice Cal. He went to the UK for 10 years till he got kicked out due to his papers not being up to scratch. He made a few albums and then returned back to the States to Venice Cal and started his public singing again. He was spotted by a guy that had a record label that had many artist on there books.....So off he went again. Not doing bad after his throat cancer. Saw him about 9 years ago playing. Amazing singer.

@210printer I travelled up from Liverpool to see him at the Newcastle Mayfair playing with Billy Bragg in the mid-80s. One of the best concerts I've ever seen too - but this song has always been my personal favourite.

Thanks to everyone for listening to this song - I made the slideshow in 5 minutes as an introduction to Ted for a few friends. I wasn't expecting to get so many views!
