Mr. Rogers went to the U.S. Senate in 1969, talked for 6 minutes, and got $20 million dollars for Public Broadcasting.

This was in part in response to significant proposed cuts by President Nixon.

  • Not just an American TV icon. Mr Rogers had a way of making EVERYONE feel important and of great worth to their community no matter what their background. As a minority, I will also truly miss him.

  • @Ferreal92 Well said. Very well said. Thank you!

  • It IS more dramatic for men to work out their feelings rather than fighting... he is absolutely right. It makes for much more interesting screen play... it shows what Mr Rogers called emotional archeology, the roots of feelings.

  • @brightbite Excellent point. Nicely said. Thank you! :)
