This show was great fir pogues living in a fantasy world where they are soldiers too. Either you're a soldier, or your support. Pogues need to learn some damned respect.

this reminds me of my good friend who gave his life for the country he loved. rip lance corporal mike geary, 2nd battalion/9th marine regiment fox company

Over there is a song by George M Cohan that some crybaby country kid stole the tittle and produced his crap for this show. This is the kinda shit that has made our country weak, cause people listen to this garbage instead of Yankee Doodle or Stars ad stripes forever.I remember hearing stories of the time when this nation was formed, those who fought in the war of 1812, and those who fought for abraham lincon,WW1 and WW2 were real soldiers cause they knew what they were fighting for.BE A PATRIOT.

@17wilmot THAT is why soldiers kill themselves...because combat takes all other enjoyment away from you. Fuck that broken man bull shit that people try to claim. Most of those mother fuckers have never seen actual combat. Most ACTUAL combat vets from this war just want that feeling back, and can't get it here. Theres nothing to replace that feeling with. So fuck this and every other show/movie. None of them have it right. None will get it right.

@17wilmot I want to go back, I want to be there, I want to be in combat. It's one of the few things that I can find any enjoyment in anymore. Because once you've been shot at...there is no other feeling in the wold like it. To see tracers flying inches over your head, to see an rpg impact a few feet away from you...to feel the shockwave, and the heat...the force of it... To see the muzzle flashes in the distance, and know that someone is trying to take your ass out and they haven't managed to...

@17wilmot It's because of that, that soldiers, (specifically infantrymen) are so aggressive. You miss being deployed, being somewhere that your only real worry in life is surviving, that you try to escape back to that feeling. Back to that rush, that sense that if you make it through this, then fuck everyone/everything else. I personally haven't been to Iraq, i've been to Afghanistan both times, and god damn if I don't miss being there.

@17wilmot The truth is...you will not EVER find an accurate depiction of anything that has anything to do with what it's really like. Even all of these videos on youtube make it out to be something that it's not. My first deployment we were in contact on a damn near daily basis. Almost every time we rolled out, we got lit the fuck up. But it's not as bad as you'd think it was. It's a HUGE rush that I won't ever fully be able to describe.
There will come a time - soon - where Americans will be of two types: those who have sacrificed and those who have not. And it will be those who have sacrificed - veterans of these wars, their families and those who understand what they have done for us - who will rebuild our society into something great again.
