Making a top and bottom plate, one can attach static wings in between. The additional wings deflect more wind on the left side making it rotate faster. The VAWT is now compact and can be attached on a building in vertical or horizontal orientation taking advantage of wind deflected by the walls or the roof. The top and bottom plate can also have a circular shape.

  • ... try to solve it, that is the stand part rotates. Opposite direction, and of course, be connected to the two units ;o)

  • I dont get it. The stator is a deflector. There is friction but the gain in having more air going through the turbine is larger. Better is to try it out. My conclusion is that there is more wind and the turbine turns faster with the stator wings.

  • I've been following VAWTs for a little while now and have a 1meter unit prototype in my garage. I have started a blog where ideas can be shared. Let me know if you want to contribute.

  • Yes, good idea. We need to learn from eachother to speed up the development time.

  • Good idea, but a one part of the energy is lost at the stand unit !
