Mike's Sky Ranch is a mecca of motorsport, a stop point on the Baja 1000 and a hangout with one challenging driveway. While it seems like ours are the first Honda Varadero's to reach Mike's, the question remains will they make it back out when a bent rim brings us to a halt? Which begs the next question, "Is this repairable?"

  • Am I the only person in Canada who owns a varadero? I want/need to know how to turn off or cut the dual braking. Can you help?

  • @mikeinajeep Maybe check some of the European forums where the bike is more popular to see if there's a cure for the linked braking. Gut feeling is that it will be a pretty involved process.

  • interesting vid! but latex gloves? wow....

  • @mexicolla Better than sticking greasy hands into your riding gloves after. Keeps the good things good.

  • Great video as always. Kudos for being able to pull off that wheel repair in the middle of nowhere.

  • @oysteinmolsen It was Kevin who persevered on beating the rim into shape. My plan was to stuff the tire full of clothes and zap-strap it to the rim to ride out. We bought a tube for if it happened again. A lesson learned.

  • Thanks onewheeldrive! Everyone over there tells me it can't be fixed. I ride my vara like a dirt bike and find the front brakes coming on off road to really sucks. Maybe it's hack saw time. I hate being the only varadero rider. Great vids and thanks!

  • I dont understand why you guys are carrying so much stuff? Please tell me your not all carrying a full set of tools. You must all be overpacking by wayyy to much.

  • Dude, be a man, grow some man hands. Gloves are for women.

  • you're riding a motorcycle through Baja, be a man about it. Don't wear gloves, grow man hands.

  • @onewheeldrive Ahhh, I can see that. I watched the rest of the series and really enjoyed it!

  • Neil... You have such a way with words...!! Ahajaaaaa... "Field repair...." Ahajahaaaaaaa........ Nice! I'm still laughing mate.
