A 15 minute film about the origins of the book, The Seal Children, written and illustrated by Jackie Morris, published by Frances Lincoln. The Seal Children grew out of many small things, almost as a river grows from small springs; a love of Selkie's after hearing The Seal Woman on radio 4, a traditional tale retold beautufully by Kevin Krossly Holland; walking in wild places; the discovery of a ruined village near where I lived; a wish to write a love story.
