Definition from reprap.org :
A RouterStrap is a RepRap made from a commercially made benchtop CNC router, with an extruder head fastened next to the spindle.

Another popular area at the moment is adapting your existing CNC Machine so you can use it as a 3D printer.

As most people have found out, when you hit the RepRap site for the first time, you are bombarded with options and it can take days of reading to try and fathom it all out.

In our forums we have an area I am going to show what hardware, software and firmware I plan to use in adapting my CNC machine to be used as a 3D printer.
Full instructions and step by step guides will be posted as we progress.

Well we managed to get the Sanguino Controller board with a breakout board, working with the CNC Machine.

Will try and get the Extruder assembled tomorrow as well as the Hot bed and get them connected.

Should be interesting to see how it comes out, atleast with the CNC we have resolution if not speed !

  • Great addition can't wait to see more.
