Posture doesn't really play a key when you're reading off of a stand.

Too good! :)
-
@ThaVanish were you the one with the awesome solo near the end of the show this year? The one that ends on the really high note??
-
you play really well, just work on your horn angle and you're golden! :)
-
@TheVanish were you the one with the solo in the ballad near the end of the show this year??? (the one that ends on the amazing high C!!)
-

AWESOME TONE!!!!!!!

In my experience, the toughest part about Mellophone is refining your tone and getting a deep, rich tone.
I played it last summer for my high school's marching band. I originally play Trumpet, so the chops weren't the issue, but you have to play Mellophone with an open throat to get that deep tone, and that is the tough part. At least it is in my experience.

@eldspartan063 True, tone is very important on a mellophone! What do you think about mine? ;-)

What corps. are you audition for?
uabamagrl 10 months ago
@uabamagrl I used it for a few corps. I got offered a spot with The Madison Scouts and The Cadets. But because this will be my 1st year in DCI and because they are awesome I have chosen to play with the Madison Scouts!
