Joanna tells a story about playing at the Latitiute Festival earlier that day and forgetting the lyrics to a song which I'm told was Sawdust & Daimonds.

  • I wondered what she'd say about that (I was at Latitude). It was actually Sawdust & Diamonds she forgot the lyrics to, about a good 4 minutes into the song (played absolutely perfectly until then). Good God if she didn't try to get it right though - she must have been keeping playing it for another 5 or 6 minutes trying desperately to pick it up and finish it properly, but getting more and more nervous and flustered the longer it went on, looking totally bemused that it was happening.

  • She must have been just talking about forgetting her lyrics in general then, because she didn't play Sawdust & Diamonds. She must have been too afraid she'd forget them again :)

  • She should write a song about the day she forgot the lyrics.

  • haha safety first!! comedic AND musical genius :]

i am a drummer of many sorts, but mainly a metal drummer. yeah deathmetal. yeah with the blastbeats and vocals that everyone hates with a passion. and ill tell you what.......

the only songs that i ever put on the stereo and play along to are her "Sadie" and "Inflammatory Writ".... and if I had the chance to play with, tour with or even jam with Joanna... I would drop eeevvverrrything...

not that id quit metal... but shes awesome.

  • omg her voice is really good when she isnt singing

  • she works to much

  • I was at Latitude, I loved her and bought both her albums afterwards and have been playing them a lot since

  • Hah! Yes. I think she decided when she finally finished it that it was just fated for her not to play that song that day. Massive kudos to her, though, that she would manage to go and play another set a few hours after finishing the previous one in a total pit of nerves. Love that lady. I was most upset I couldn't jump on the back of her bus and be carted down to Somerset House to watch her again that night. Lucky you :-p

  • (The crowd LOVED her though, maybe even moreso afterwards than at the start. Brilliant, brilliant set.)
