its called sonic boom - when the front compressor turns faster then the rear compressor , when you take your foot of the gas the turbo is still spinning and creates back presher , no good for the turbo life new turbo wont do that as long as you don't over boost the turbo get a bigger turbo to run lees boost to get the same ride , nice pull through the gears that's the 5 for you great car ,

that's because car's without DV have an internal DV.
you say it's proven not to be bad for the turbo's life but where do you got that from?

compressor surge is not bad for a tubo otherwise they would not sale turbo car as standard without D.V`s
there is a lot of dibates about this but it has been proven that compressor surge will not shorten a turbo chargers lifespan

it doesnt have a dump valve on. its compressor surge. you just need a cone type filter and no dump valve and it will make that noise
