Nicotine is the most addictive drug known to man. If they removed nicotine from cigarettes no one would smoke. Smokers have to smoke. I thought smoking was so cool, edgy, glamorous. Over my 30-some years, I received thousands and thousands of messages building that perception.
Then I see these guys who run the tobacco industry and I think: they look dorky. Where are all the tattoos and piercings? The momento mori and other symbols of subculture, counterculture? The loud rock music and the motorbikes? Aside from gaining access to their ill-gotten wealth, why would I want to party with these corrupt old farts?
