Another clip from the great Tivoli concert in 76. Nice sax solo by Danny Turner, and Lin Biviano doing his Cat Anderson type solo. In fact, I think this concert was just shortly after Lin joined Basie's band.

  • Always love Lin's high note energy at the end...it's almost hearing static sounds off a radio. Love it every time.

  • I like at the end when Basie stands up. All I hear in my head is, "Alright children... Calm down naa."

  • Great playing. Lin's sound in this video reminds me of Cat in Duke's band

  • cool!

  • Wow! Lin Biaviano and Butch Miles. Excellant!

  • Lin Biviano is an amazing trumpet player.

  • Thanks for posting these clips, this is my favorite Basie band, specifically with butch on drums. Was Biviano's real name Frank, i've always known him as Lin. He played in some great bands.

  • Wow, great performance, haha, Frank Biviano, that is hilarious, His sound is like electric, I like his solo and his lead playing, to me count basie seems like he would not like that style of playing, the extreme upper register, but he seemed to like it.
