Robert Doyle should get a real job. As buskers we do not beg , it is the choice of public to give us money. What right does "Doyle" have to put people like buskers down. They contribute to melbourne. There talents and at least there not engaing in criminal activity.

One of my favourtie buskers in Melbourne is an old, scruffy guy who plays a set of home made drums. Now he is not what you'd call a mainstream 'talented' musician but I love seeing him everyday. I also love seeing the disabled people who get a chance to perform in public with their carers.

Perfection is not always a good thing.

Busking is age old tradition for artist's and musicians. Taste in art is subjective but drawing this parallel between buskers and bums is asinine. The rhetoric in this video is an inaccurate as it is counter productive. I do not agrre with Mayor Doyles approach to this matter, however talent regardless of taste is easy to discern and appreciate but there does exist an element that chooses to use busking as a means that makes no attempt to present anything other than a need.

Firstly, to the person who called begging 'abhorrent'. I hope that one day you find yourself sweating in misery, choking on the affluence of your ideology. I hope you have to beg and busk your way back into this supposedly free country. Being a very educated bum, the 'freedom-fighters' dictate my alienation for me.
