It really IS. The enemy team only needs 1 competent pilot and it's impossible to do the "hover until they fly past move" and even if you do succeed with it it's almost impossible to catch up since they can just do one sharp turn and you'll lose them.
And if you hover to take out tanks it's EASY as hell for any kind of ground enemy to kill you.
(RPG/Stinger/tank/IFV etc)
