Back in Jan 1996, Gushers held a voting contest whose winner was not shown in the commercials' ballot 8) how silly.

@getoffmypeaches When they gave you the gusher to eat during the take, was it a real gusher or just clay or something? And also, did you sit in front of a green screen?

The gills move/breathe? I guess that explain why they had you turn at the end..! The original video I got is just small enough that I wouldn't've noticed the gills.. :)

I was about 12 when I shot this, so I share the nostalgia this comm inspires!

To answer your question, this was shot in 2 takes. 1) me popping a gusher (which did not taste like catfish & had to spit into a bucket after each take) and 2) me wearing a huge foam core mask over my head with an air hose up the back to make my "gills" appear to be breathing. Basically, a pretty cool way for a kid to spend her afternoon. Glad you enjoyed it!
