There should be a Fair Tax litmus test for any candidate Democrat or Republican. If a politician does not support the Fair Tax, that means to me that he is not on the side of the people but rather in it to obtain power.

@LibertarianChristian Businesses to business translations would be taxed under a bank debit tax. That cost is added to the cost consumers of "American Made" pay until there are no more consumers of American Made. Cash users like drug dealers and illegal aliens are not taxed under a debit tax while imports are favored competing free of embedded taxes.

Instead lets just tax every one the same at the register, and use the rebate to ensure no family pays tax on their poverty level consumption.

Thanks for posting this. Once we get the FairTax, people will wonder why it took us so long. Our individual shares of the tax burden will drop because criminals, foreign tourists, and illegals will finally be paying into the pot. Prices will go down because the compliance costs corporations have to pay right now will be eliminated. People will have an extra full day because they won't have to collect and file receipts for their tax forms. All this the the poverty level poor will be untaxed.

@dtvgmedia debit tax just seems to be the best way to collect tax fairly that you can keep all your income and not taxed on earnings or savings, only when you make a payment from you bank do you get taxed and even then it's only about 1% or less. Most importantly it makes the corporate elite pay their fair share of tax and relieves a huge burden on the middle class.

@LibertarianChristian taxes on production and consumption is paid by the consumer. Without him there is no income, profit or sale to tax. Through the lens of consumption American income taxes income taxes look like selective sin taxes or fines against consuming American made. Most of what America imports comes from countries that remove portions of their embedded tax on their exports while taxing imports. The fairtax makes free trade, fair trade (tax wise).

@LibertarianChristian How much we're taxed results from how much government spends, for if it collected no tax but continued spending there would still be a problem. You & I want less government, but we need not have a tax that is biased against american producers. The FT fixes the problems created though how we collect as society debates the problems & merits of government spending. The FT taxes consumption of imports and domestic made products the same & lowers the cost of complying with it.
