@mcrluvr222 Well, when it comes to quantity vs. quality of life, I have to be honest if I got in a car accident and became a vegetable somebody would pull the plug. But then again that would be MY OWN decision, because that'd be what I said I wanted in that situation.

@NoSpeakieInternet I agree with you. And I do agree that to call yourself pro-life, you must be completely pro-life. I know people who call simply themselves anti-abortion because they believe in the death penalty, etc. Personally I don't think anyone has the right to decide when someone else dies. Adoption is always a viable solution; there are always families willing to raise that child as their own.
I think in rare cases where the pregnancy threatens the mom's life, exceptions can be made.

@mcrluvr222 Somebody can't be pro-choice and think a young girl shouldn't be given the choice to raise her child or give in up for adoption if she thinks that is the best way to deal with the situation. That takes away her choice.
I also think somebody can't be pro-life and murder.
I think the question of quantity vs. quality of life will always be there, but I think that in non-extreme cases a child could be adopted into a better home if it's mother has less than ideal home situation.

@NoSpeakieInternet There are so many good parents willing to adopt these children, and that's partly what makes it so sad. Instead of being given a chance at life, unborn fetuses are condemned by pro-choicers to live lives of poverty and misery, when if less money was given to abortion clinics and more to, let's say, charities that assist mothers and pregnant women, their lives would be made that much easier. Instead these people merely say the fetus is better off dead. How does this make sense?

@NoSpeakieInternet Liberals are not bashed by pro-lifers; pro-aborts are. I'm not talking about pro-choicers because, although this may sound condescending, I think most of their hearts are in the right place and they are simply misguided and misinformed. Pro-aborts, however, are the ones who only approve of the choice to have an abortion. They knock adoption and disapprove of young girls keeping their babies because they are too "irresponsible". How is this being pro-choice again? cont.

@mcrluvr222 I think abortion is sad and adoption is a viable alternative in most situations. (I can’t have kids and want to adopt someday, so I admit there might be some bias there.) I shy away from the pro-life movement because I’m a liberal, and liberals are sometimes bashed by pro-lifers. Besides, there are certain gray areas where the welfare of the mother has to be considered. (rape, incest, serious medical complications.). that siad, I respect people who are honestly pro-life.
-
@NoSpeakieInternet To be honest, I don't know whether this video is credible or not. Some people say yes, some say no. And my so-called proof is more proof than pro-choicers have bothered to give. Look anywhere, and you'll see so many different theories about fetal pain, where life begins, etc. The only ones that give ample evidence to support the theory and explain it in considerable detail without using moral or ethical explanations (usually) are pro-lifers. Why? They have nothing to hide.
-
@mcrluvr222 You didn't answer to the criticism of this video. I think it's propaganda. I don't know how I feel about abortion, but I don't like to be lied to.
How about your so called-proof. That probably has a lot of bias it in whether it's admitted or not.
-
@NoSpeakieInternet Various liberal media have argued against the validity of fetal pain, but again, where is the proof? The examples you've given are merely the opinions of outspoken leftists, whose theories have been debunked time and again. Your argument is weak and your evidence invalid.

An article in the Journal of the American Medical Association suggested pain was unlikely before 29 weeks
Besides, I've experts say parts of this ultrasound were speed up to make it look like the fetus was panicing and the movement is pressure moving the fetus, not the fetus trying to escape.
@Banoushi I have found that most people I know who are prolife are very involved in rescue and helping the woman and children. I am sure that there are those who may not be, but I personally do not know them. The prolife people I know are caring loving people who offer support and options for those children. I personally know many teens today who were going to be aborted but they were either adopted by others or their moms were given support and are now wonderful young people.

Everyone should check out the YouTube video called,"The Butcher and the Baby", and get an eye-full of why abortions should be banned.
