Yea makes sense. I thought it didnt sound like it was runnin on all 8.

they make this wonderful thing called a power programmer they're oh say like 500 bucks and will make it run so much better but still invest in getting it dyno tuned b4 it running that lean roast the pistons out of the block

Did you ever get the car tuned? I am wondering because i just installed the same cam and I want to know the difference that tuning makes.
-
Damn that sounds good. I'm going to be adding a cam just like the CC306 here in a month or two and new headers. I just hope it sounds that good :)

Running a bigger cam won't make the car run lean enough to burn pistons. If anything it will run richer because of the overlap. Either way, the opti turned out to be bad even though it was new. Only ran on 4 cylinders in that video. Ended up selling the car and the next owner pulled the heads to see rust in 4 of the cylinders.
FWIW I was also using a real tuner. Not some crap ass power programmer that doesn't change anything.

Did you swap out your opti, springs, pushrods, rockers?

Opti is a new stock OEM piece. Springs are Comp 918 beehives, pushrods are hardened Trick Flows, rockers are Comp Magnum 1.6 roller rockers. And yeah I did put it in myself.
After taking this video I found out that I had the wrong ecu in the car. Turns out I had the stock ECU and programming from a 1994 Caprice with the 4.3L V8 in it. It idles MUCH better with the correct ecu in it now.
