"Experiment IV"by Kate Bush.Recorded by "Videoschrauber" from a record player with the DTC-670,and played now by the Sony DTC-670 DAT Recorder, that i've got by "Videoschrauber". Many many thanks for that!!!! :-))))
This DTC-670 is now my very first DAT recorder that i ever had. I never had any experience with DAT before. But i can tell you,DAT is a sensible thing.Especially this Sony Model "DTC-670",because the cassette-drive has some weak points on this and other models with same drive.Thats the reason why you can find this model quite cheap on ebay etc...
This video is not all! Because i had do a ,probably, interesting "mod" for the drive, that i had find in a service note for the first models of the DTC-670.I will show it and the complete device soon in a seperate presentation video!

  • @RagedContinuum Yes,shure. But only 2-3 Times in a year or so, when you use it only sometimes.

  • @FeCr3 hey do dats require any maintenance like cleaning heads?

  • Great Kate Bush track too.

  • DAT was a great format. Many thanks for sharing!

  • @sacredrealm Thanks! DAT has a very clear and natural sound! Because it records uncompressed in the PCM format like CD. But DAT recorders and cassettes can be quite sensible, like the CD too.And you can get play-tracking problems, when you play a DAT tape that are recorded with an other foreign DAT recorder. Not always, but it's possible. That some points that i don't like on DAT format.

  • Great music! And interesting vid. Do you like DAT much?
