  • World class preeminent public research and teaching University of California Berkeley (Cal) ranking drops. In 2004 the London-based Times Higher Education ranked Cal the 2nd leading research university in the world, just behind Harvard; in 2009 that ranking tumbled to 39th. By 2011 Cal had not returned to 2nd place. Cal below top ten in tuition to Return on Investment (ROI)

  • HAHAHAHAHA, are you kidding me? $800,000? Where did you get that number? He makes at least $900,000, and including benefits, probably closer to 1 MILLION.

  • The number one problem of the university of California is its president, Mark Yudof, who thinks he runs a business rather than a university. With an annual salary of $800,000 he lays off people who make a fraction of what he makes, and still have the Chutzpa to talk about efficiency.

  • the people of CA have given millions and millions of dollars to UC and they just want more and more. how outrageous. and the poor teachers and students pay for it.

  • Hand-outs, NO. Teach people to exceed the level that we have today.

  • Mark my words. The state of California will sell UCIMC to a private health-care organization within the next 12 months. The four to eight percent salary decrease that will be imposed this August will never be returned as the new company won't acknowledge the increases. My guess is that by 2010, UCIMC will be purchased from the state by Cleveland Clinic.

  • Our governement instituted. sanctioned, and enforced School Systems and various Colleges and Universities are first and foremost a company.

And like a company they are primarily in business to make monry and generate revenuse for their CEOS, School Boards, and then the workers and the various Unions. They provide some service and tools to aid people to educate and better themselves but that is secondary and

at the expense of citizens and a huge drain and looting of State coffers.
