Our demand in Ireland is that the International Monetary Fund (IMF) and European Central Bank (ECB) stay out of our affairs. We do not want their influence or control. Our demand is that the private bank debt that has been socialised and burdened upon the population of the country who had nothing to do with it be lifted. We will not pay and let our children and grandchildren pay for this mess that private banks and bondholders have caused. It is their problem, not ours. Our demand is that the oil and gas reserves off our coast that were criminally handed away to private corporations be returned to the people. Our demand is for real, participatory democracy - where the people's interests come first, where the people decide what happens.

  • heres something fkd up it wont let me post my true comment

  • @sShizZHapPENZz Dont understand how that can happen

  • Absolutely pathetic turn out... no one gives a shit. I'd be there myself but I have work tomorrow. When yis are ready to burn down the Dail I'll come running though. There have been countless tiny protests in this country for years about a number of issues and not one has made a blind bit of difference. They'll only take notice if we MAKE them take notice. If you're not willing to do that then you might as well all go home.

  • @garbarrage the world does not need another armchair activist. If you believe burning down the Dail is the answer off you go!

In the meantime fair-play to all on Dame street and all those who take action in a pro active way .

  • fair play to ye - if i was in dublin id be there with me sleeping bag

  • @AdrianLOkeeffe and bring your guitar

  • Welcome back Madam K.

The system stinks. It is way beyond reform. It should be scrapped.

Let's never give in! That is exactly what the corporate overlords want. We have started this and have momentum. Keep it going!

  • I'm just wondering if the Occupy movement is continuing? You dont hear aboutit much in the puppet media.

  • fair to play them.

  • @madamk I agree. Fair play to them. I'm far from an arm-chair activist. I have protested over numerous issues in the past peacefully. I live in Sligo now and can't justify to my boss taking a couple of days off to sit around Dame St. for no reason. This protest will achieve NOTHING. If you don't agree, I'll come back on here in 6 months to say "I told you so!"

  • gwan the jimi mcfannachaldaach!!!!
