If you look closely you can see the image of any of the 3D games were a little bit split up (you can only see it with low quality camera) so it would be useing the same trick for 3D in the theaters today (without the red and blue). The only difference is that it is split SLIGHTLY were it is not noticable so you would not be needing the glasses but your bear eye. (Note: This is just a theory!!!!) It actually has a screen, or image, for each eye, one for the right and one for the left. The different images of the screen are combined by the brain, making it feel as if the game has depth. Basically, a parallax barrier. I have seen that the games intend to split up if the system is twisted or if you are not looking directly in front of the screen. This means that there might not be any games where you hold the 3DS like a book. If there is one, the 3D will have to be off for a clear image.

i think the 3d from the screen is used by the 3d glass screen (imagine making the 3d glass glasses a sise of the screen).

Problem is, you need two of those screens to make it work.  The same method used in 3D glasse we see in the theater will not work.

The developers only mention that it has processing power that exceeds the Wii. I doubt that, visually, it will come close to rivaling the PS3 or 360. If that is the case, then it would be a MASSIVE technological jump, a breakthrough to bring such power to something that could fit in your pocket.

@dinmagic Ok, I know your comment is old, but I wanted to reply anyway. The 3DS's graphics really are close to PS3 and 360. Just look at the 3D Resident Evil games or Super Street Fighter IV. And they're the 1st games of the console. They'll get even BETTER!!! in the next years, when developers will be able to take more advantage of the console after gaining some experience with it, even Nintendo. NGP might be like a PS3, but the 3DS is REALLY CLOSE and has 3D so it's much better imo.
