no offense, but what was the reason for the second alarm request? that seemed like a "small" fire. However, since i wasn't there, I can't really make any judgement calls...

@jgrandison2004 I agree, and I just dont like it. We have wail/yelp/horn, basically identical to this siren, and use mainly wail, on our two engines at my station they have wail yelp hilo and a electronic air horn sound on one and the hi lo gets attention quick. I like flippin back and forth between wail and hilo, then layin on the Q.

so do you guys just respond from home straight to the fire if your to far away from the station or something?

@bigBn20102010 We respond from wherever we are when our pagers go off. Most of the firefighters are paid on call and go straight to the fire scene. We dont respond to the station, the engineers on duty take the apparatus to the scene.
