some issues that come up under stress that must be dealt with to make this type of training realistic. Most people, not wanting to be shot, grab the weapon not the wrist.Single hand grabs will immediately be followed with a strike from the other hand Most people will go for a 2 handed grip. One hand on the barrel and the other going between the wrists and hooking under the base plate of the magazine and attempting to pull it down and twisting it toward the attacker.

it seems like the quickest way out of this grab is to rotate against the thumb (weakest part of the grip).
this would also avoid doing big circular motions and endangering who ever is around in the event of accidental discharge.
the only reason I can see for doing this is to put your hand on the slide - which seems as though it can be done going against the thumb in a safer more efficient manner.

nice move but i have to ask a question.
i've seen a few of these retention videos from various people... one thing i've noticed.
they all seem to use a right on right attack..
what happens if the attack comes from a left hand? it seems counter intuitive for someone to cross over and attack with their right hand.. even if they're right handed in this situation.
also in this particular incident the attacker is doing nothing with their left hand.. how would you deal with that?
