  • public school- typing too quick

  • This is not a really good point. Vouchers do not offer any good choices. It will take a few children from a public school and leave the rest of them floundering. Let's fix the pubic school and forget vouchers. This is directly related to Mike's question.

  • Up is down and good is bad...We are to be kept healthy, wealthy and wise by such Rockefeller franchises as the allopathic medicine, the IRS, and mass schooling. How fortunate we sniveling serfs are to have such magnanimous benefactors... People have caught on, teachingpassion, and their numbers are growing. Perhaps Book VII of Plato's 'Republic' and Luke 9:59-62 are in need of review.

  • Real cute!

  • It's hard to hold a serious conversation with someone so outside the realm of reality. Where do you get this stuff?

  • Alas, there are those who do not watch the idiot box -- and they rarely send their children to the Foundation Farm.

  • The media is the problem, not the schools...You say this as if there is a difference! The only high school student I know, the daughter of a friend, tells me of her "Global Warming" class and her "Holocaust" class...Keep in mind that this system was set up with an explicit intention to sensitize one to "official and authorized voices" (propaganda) and to inculcate a climate of "low level dissatisfaction" (boredom) alleviated only by novelty and distraction.

  • Also, do you believe everything you see? Who knows how long or how many people they interviewed to get the spin needed for the video. They don't show the people who knew the answers or whom they did not fool. Also, the video kept flashing back and asking the same people over and over again.

  • hey neo--interesting video you sent me. First of all, is the video real? Who really knows? Second of all, I DO believe Americans can be that stupid; I meet them all the time. However, I don't think it is because of public education--I think it is our media. All our media is owned by a few large corporations, who spend all of the time trying to 'entertain us.' That is why Amer. are disconnected with the world and out of touch.

  • Much research has been done about small children and working with a lot of children as well as having my own, I know that all children learn at different rates. I have read many books on learning and the brain. A child may be an emergent reader on their own, but they would not "grasp" explicit instruction that long. That actually is one of the downfalls of the current educational system that the public demands much too much at an inappropriate young age.
