OK :)
I shouldn't reply so eagerly on Youtube. I guess I'll never learn :)
Happy Music Making!

@megalodonNL Fair enough. My question was rhetorical and I did not expect an answer from the Youtube community. It was a comment for the video's author on the video itself.
-
What I meant was: if you have a very specific question that wasn't addressed in a youtube video, you COULD look it up yourself in the manual. If the answer isn't in there, you can better ask on the forum since that's what it's for. You'll probably get the answer within the same day. Look at your question: it was asked 2 weeks ago and still you didn't receive your answer from the YT community. You really like to wait that long?

@megalodonNL The manual is not a script for this video as far as I can tell. The manual has a lot of great information for sure but it's nice to get information in "in-use" format too so you can see how people work. You know, so I can learn how other people solve problems.
-
Then download the free manual. How about that?

When i try to split something at like a 16th note but it the cursor only goes to quarter notes?? what should i do??

This video shows off a lot of cool stuff, but most of the time I have no idea what the presenter is doing. Click drag shift click stuff's different. What happened? I am a total newb to DAW software so I may not be the target audience, but this video is mostly way over my head.

I'm thinking about switching over to reaper. So these are great videos, very helpful and very nicely presented, thanks for doing them.
Have you heard of Ritchie Kotzen? (guitarist / singer) - you sound EXACTLY like him.
-
Yes big bear Reaper will do all you require... and lots more. It doesnt get any easier. Its not over technical... yet powerful... you only need a mic plugged into your sound card and drag an mp3 onto a track and sing over it adding any fx you want. Render as mp3 and done! Simplez! ;0)

@muzikman2008 Its really only $40 online? I don't want to sound like a douche but I need a fairly easy program. All I wanna do is lay down a premade track in mp3 format and lay some vocals over it. Obviously I need a mic and some wires. Anything else? And is it easy to do this using Reaper? I'm working with a PC that runs windows XP. Its very basic. Any info would be appreciated. Thanks.
Any editor that doesn't allow clip mods like vegas and reaper here is lame! haha man, I LOVE being able to work at the clip level. fade in/out, volume, but I'm learning this reaper prog so not sure if you can add fx at the clip level or only track level but anyway, thanks for the tuts.

@TruthSurge Oh you *absolutely* can add FX at the clip level in Reaper! Select a clip and press shift+E, this FX window will apply to the clip only. You can also press F2 and find an "FX" button in the clip properties window. You can copy or move FX from clip to clip just the same as you can from track to track, you can rightclick the clip and choose "Render selected items", you can split (S) a clip that already has FX and it will duplicate the FX to both children...
In other words, yes. :-)
