@Joelstoneis i hate em too, but "pop noir" is translated "dark pop", so i think he means "dark wave" if u no that. Kindof slightly melancholic popular music.

The image is Kraftwerk. The music influences are latter day OMD with a touch of Kraftwerk (who also influenced OMD in their early days).
