@wirelessoptical every biker should wear earplugs. It's not the bike motor you hear that deafens you, it's the sustained wind noise.

First time rider here- do you often wear Earplugs? I am thinking of getting a Versys, but I don't want my ears to hate me for it...

Hi wirelessoptical,
I wear earplugs for all but the shortest of trips. For a stock Versys, the exhaust isn't the issue - it's the wind noise across your helmet that will generate most of the noise. Above about 80kph, I could barely hear the bike any more. I find that the earplugs make for a much more comfortable ride, and help me concentrate. You'll still be able to hear traffic and other important noises.
Good choice on the bike, by the way - the Versys is awesome :)
