PC Plod as you referred to is one of the better ones with campain medals on his chest. Is one for the Falklands? As a ex squady and police officer i would not hesitate to serve with him, cosidering some of the 'Plods' you get nowadays.

@Crofterman2974 if you have a chance have a look at a site called britishpathe, there are priceless films of guards bands and ceremonial from the turn of the century /1920,s and 30,s the days true of pageantry..but the drum majors drill was very different .. by today very casual..the arm swing ,rolling the mace, u cant compare it to today at all.the DM ,S today make much more visual impact!..regards ..marty

I turned 21 today (on the 21st of september). I should have a parade like this!

The guy on point at 1:08 must be at least 6 Ft 11" and 280.
If he leaves the military he could always play for the NBA.

Dwarfs in the Guards, what's the world coming to. Even the Drum Majors cannot bring their arms up straight. Bring back Sgt Major Brittain, Sad to say, but the Guards are not as well drilled as they were a few years ago.

@IC2720 Haha thats true. I always found drill relitavely easy. you can see that the poor sap is looking at the others and knows it too. He should know the tricks to quickly get in step. Should know how to march anyway...

@Marktsheppard Your Grandma has the hands if a bear? That certainly is worrying. If, on the other hand (pardon the pun), her hands are uncovered then perhaps replace bear with bare.
Thank you.
God Save the Queen!

...my cool Grandma wants to strangle your Queen... with her bear hands... hehehe...
