This is part 2 in a 3-part Adventures In Service series by the Summit Bechtel Reserve. You can check out all the Adventures In Service episodes at http://www.summitblog.org/category/adventures-in-service/

In this installment, Venturing Crew 514 gets a personalized workshop on lead climbing in the New River Gorge from the New River Alliance of Climbers (NRAC). The NRAC guides were happy to show new techniques to the Venturers after the Scouts had helped out the group with replacing aging and dangerous hardware on climbing routes.

Are you a rock climber? Leave us a comment about where you climb.
Are you registered for the 2013 National Scout Jamboree yet? Don't miss the first opportunity to check out the fun like this when the gates open at the Summit Bechtel Reserve.
