(May 15, 2009) Media disdain one day, a new respect the next. Jacob Zuma's election as President of South Africa capped a remarkable political comeback. His savvy and charisma helped reverse a political downfall fueled by charges of corruption and fraud. Global media seemed willing to forgive and forget.

  • how stupid are south african people to vote for this man?

  • I am a South African, Jacob Zuma is a bad example and i don't think of him as worthy of receiving the position of president. For more than a few reasons, for one he has rape charges behind his name. Secondly he has a damn lot of wives and children with which he uses tax money to pay their debt. Not to mention he's got HIV, in which questioned why he did'nt use a condom he replied ": Don't worry i took a shower it'll be fine."

There you have it our president...

  • That mean you don't know anything about him or South African history.

  • He didn't stuggle he had it easy

  • @phakajuju you can stand with him and I'll pass the soap.

  • i will ask you that in 5 years time

  • Africa needs to change

  • I am really pleased to see there are some people out there that still have hope in the their future in SA - all I can say let´s hope this is not just wishful thinking - only time will tell

  • and you absolutely will succeed mr Zuma. We will stand with you.

  • African governments are just as corrupt as western ones except they aren't as good as getting away with it. If there were no governments in Africa, they would prosper.
