PROFESSIONAL LOCK-PICKING COMPETITION SHOWCASES THE SUPERIOR PICK RESISTANCE OF WEISER'S SMARTKEY(r) TECHNOLOGY

Schlage(r) SecureKey(tm) Was Picked 44 Times in 56 Attempts, While SmartKey(r) Was Picked Only Once

Mississauga, ON. (Aug. 26, 2010) - Kwikset®, in an effort to
demonstrate the superior pick-resistance of the award-winning SmartKey® deadbolt with BumpGuard(tm) protection, recently hosted a lock-picking competition for professional locksmiths at the Associated Locksmiths of America (ALOA) Convention in Orlando, Fla. The industry
changing technology has been widely available in Canada under the iconic Weiser® brand name since it's introduction in 2006, and was subsequently launched in the U.S. in 2007 by it's sister brand, Kwikset®.

  • Who cares if it's hard to pick? Just pound in a flat head screwdriver that had flat sides on the handle. Then use a wrench to grip the handle and twist to rip the pins through the PLASTIC cylinder to open the lock.

  • @24hrMrLocksmith Reach down between your legs with your locksmith tools and theres your monkey.

  • The "Emperor has No Clothes" this is not a "professional lock-picking competition." I can teach a Monkey to open the Weiser Smartkey deadbolts and locks as quick as you can insert your key. Summer of 2010 I was invited to pick the locks but they refused me and my locksmith students to attempt opening the locks with our picks. Anybody know where I can get a monkey?

  • I definitely smell bullshit. I cringe when I see a Schlage lock that a customer wants me to pick. A few days ago I picked four Kwikset locks in under 15 seconds each. These were not Smartkeys but every locksmith knows for cheaper locks, Kwikset doesn't hold a candle to Schlage.

  • no quality locksmith would put in a kwikset...or weiser...

It's sad that capitalism has made our world so disgusting!

    fking lies everywhere!

  • fuck that shitset count to 3 and its open these were avg joes and definately rigged schage prob 999999 cut

  • You can tell this competition is rigged. There is no way possible the secure key technology is that easy to get into. Kwickset is crap and always will be crap. Just more false propoganda from Kwickset
