Just having some fun with the sound these Luddies produce. I'm trying out a new pair of Regal tip 5A sticks and really like them. Much lighter than others yet retaining a "heavy" stick sound.

Set the overheads to the exact ORTF specs and btw, that's 110 deg 17cm apart, I found the cymbals came through with a cleaner "shine". Other new thing being tried here is a Sennheiser MD-421on the batter side of the bass drum...more attack I am finding, yet natural. That bass drum sure moves a lot of air !!!

  • Get rid of the echo on your toms! Get studio rings or moongels

  • @spursfan112

there are no effects, echo or processing...this is a natural sound. I don't use rings or muffling at all and don't believe anyone should. Thanks for watching.

  • what kind of snare is that?

  • @GrooveDrummin Thats right! The room echo sound makes it all come to life! thats why Led Zeppelins songs sound really good with john bonhams sound, nice playing!, and what kind of ludwig drumset is this?

  • @GrooveDrummin Your drumming is mesmerizing.

  • Beautiful sounding drums. That warm and full sound coaxed from those heads is phenomenally good. Many have tried and few succeed to mimic that classic Bonham sound. You obviously have studied his legacy in great detail. Nice work.

  • @GrooveDrummin Ok fair enough, and your welcome!

  • @georgeyboy981 Sorry about that reply. I was in a hurry and didn't really have the chance to go in depth. If you send me a message, I can give you a detailed description of both setups, including the pros and cons.

  • @XxStrongDrums1996xX thanks for the advice ;)
