California Stop

Don't you think you have too many all way stops in North America. If this is a T intersection, why not just put the stop sign on the terminating road, with priority being to traffic on the continuing road. This way, the driver facing to stop sign gives way to both the left and right and, looking both way is more likely to make a full stop.

Officer: You realize there was a stop-sign back there. Californian: Whats a stop-sign?

where police how much money lose for this

That's not a California Stop, that's an everywhere stop. It happens everywhere. I say if it doesn't cause accidents then don't worry with it.

LOL, this video is actually pretty funny to me.

Right in California, at a stop sign, you S.T.O.P (Stomp Toe On Pedal).

I get ticket in Jersey for this!

Good idea--start them off early and get them in the right mindset!!
I think this sign still does it's work. People get more cautious and slow down even if they are not making a full stop

Who cares! This is a stupid stop sign unnecessarily placed at a T intersection with low traffic flows. You really have to have zero faith in people to think this intersection needs ANY signs at all. It's bad enough our gov't puts the signs up, but now you think it's important enough to post a video? Find a real issue to care about!! Numerous studies have been done to show that NO signs actually improves safety.

@djkerton I think the reason there's a stop sign at this particular intersection is the cross street (base of the "t") approaches the intersection at an 18% upward grade... but you do have a point that there's almost zero traffic from that direction.
As for "important enough to post a video"... I just thought it was humorous. You didn't? Who cares ;)

The problem is that when you put "Stop" signs everywhere, they are DEVALUED; same as with artificially low speed limits. Only Canada and USA uses STOP signs in place of YIELD signs. I grew up in Russia and now live in Canada and at first it was hard to get used to these STOP signs everywhere. If this was Moscow, Russia for example and you had the same intersection as in your vid, I gurantee they'd have simple YIELD signs, or - better yet - make one road as PRIMARY and the other as secondary.

@smd5231 I grew up in a small town in the midwestern US that had a general understanding that north-south roads were secondary to east-west roads. No signs... you just yielded/stopped if you were headed north or south and didn't worry about it so much if you were going east or west.
