@azereali lol didn't you guys roll a brand new AHTS a few years back and kill off the entire crew?
of course it was just a bunch of Norwegians on board, so no big loss.

Reason why i am late to reply, is because i just got back from the ship i work on, a WAY safer and better equipped ship, well, again, norwegian ships are known to be a whole lot better than american! you can see that by just looking. If it was not for the norwegians, there would have still been oil comming out from the well from deepsea horizon. 2 years without LTI, huh? not really impressive. a few injuries occour, but hey, no one has been too badly injured since the company was founded. (1996)

Wow, calm down now kitty... Just that if that was in norway, you would have been without a job for putting this on youtube :) I have been on a AHTS ship for a year, not much, but even i can see some improovements that could be done onboard there... like you could maybe have had a safety release...? with that i mean maybe use the crane...? hook the crane onto the shackle that is holding the chain in position, then lift it up? There is NO shark jaws, how about tow pins? american shipindustry...

@azereali First - "azereali", that is me in the video & my company has had zero LTI's for the past 2 years. Second - I have worked in commercial fishing, logging, & towboating for 17 years...I know what I'm doing & would not put my crew in danger, hence why I (chief mate) am releasing it. Third - if you knew your ass from a escape hatch, you could see this tug is not outfitted with "shark jaws". To all you worried about the environmental impact.....WTF do you think artificial reefs are?!

Dumbass on deck... No wonder the US gets HSEQ tips from Norway :). When you see how they do it texas style, I am supprised that they even are alive... If that chain would have hit that guy, he would be dead! The chain should have been fastened in one of the shark jaws, then when the deck hands are done on deck, they should have left it, and let the bridge take care of the rest... After seeing what happends on an american ship, no wonder you americans go to the norwegians for help...

Why did you dump that into the water

I was on the tug. This is the seasonal deployment of a mooring buoy in the Chukchi Sea. The anchor system is recovered at the end of the summer season and stored shore-side for the winter. Nothin is lost.
Exactly!
This reminds me of my adventures at the sea-scouts...
Anchor .. let-go! Done. Fasten anchor line! ... What line?
:)

@canamash Don't worry, that's just steel. It's probably home to a bunch of crabs, barnacles, anemones, and the like. The more junk down there, makes more habitat. (not chemicals obviously) Look up Texas Clipper, and check out the history on that ship. What is puzzling to me, is that the chain wasn't sold for scrap. That heavy stuff is worth money, and it looked like they were in port, so I don't get it.
