Masterpiece.

Screw you Rick Perry

The gold standard performances of these pieces, I've not heard better. Of course, I'm sure it was helped by the fact that Bernstein and Copland were good friends and colleagues.

my favorite piece of classical music...or music period. so beautiful.

Copland composed this ballet score for Martha Graham for a premier at the Library of Congress in 1944. He was later often amused when told that his music evoked the beauty of Spring in the Appalachian mountains when the piece actually referred to a poem by Hart Crane about a natural spring in the Appalachians! Never the less, it evokes the feeling of Spring in my heart whenever I hear it. A quintessential, authentic window into the beauty of America!

@nicodagger It deffinitley does.
What makes you think it can't be an appalachian spring in Autumn? Thats how i visualise it.

Its not that slow really is it. Zubin Mehta's version is just as slow if not slower. but i do like a lot.
so lovely. so americana. so comforting. :)

I close my eyes listening, and the all is right with the world, if only for a few minutes.
I was hoping you noticed I re-uploaded with audio level and dead space fixed.
You have a beautiful soul. :)

Thanks for the advice. I won't let them :) They only destroy their own spirits with their hatred. They know nothing of beautiful people... or beautiful music. Am Yisrael Chai!
