Usually birds pluck their feathers if their stressed or have a unusual reaction to something. I can tell Jarred loves you :)

Hopefully, he just has the habit he started from the shot area ya know? Felt an imperfection and something bothersome and there ya go. I hope its not from something else medical going on or allergy. You can deal with a habit if you know there is absolutely nothing medical going on.

After watching the video, I actually wanted to comment the night you brought it up, but it took a lot of time for me to note just one thing that's important. Toward the end you said that Jaared really learned to talk from Kia! You should be so proud by that. Maybe Jaared won't be so silent next time around. As always I hope for the best for poor Jaared. I know that the few times you do spend quality time with the birds you are very caring and when stressed go the extraMile

He plucked them out after he had an allergic reation to a vaccination he had years ago...... sadly, he never let them grow back
