  • Thanks for posting this video. The song was written by my brother Larry Kingston, who passed away a few years ago. Larry worked for Porter and Dolly's publishing company for several years and Porter chose that song as his weekly theme song for his TV show. It's great to see my brother's songs being played and enjoyed by the country fans. (Ken K)

  • Maybe they where singing about Alton lol

  • That's odd because West Plains is 100 miles from Poplar Bluff. I was born and raised in Poplar Bluff.

  • @TheCARDUDES lmao

  • I live in PBMO now, but I grew up on the Current River, 40 miles from Poplar Bluff. Great Song, thanks for posting it.

  • the song is about West Plains mo. He was my grandmothers cousin. Grandma used to tell me stories of playng music with him. He never came back to west plains much after he hit nashville

  • A great song.Where is the female singer now?

  • I can't believe I found this song on here. My mom was born in the 40's grew in Mill Spring Mo. and now her family live in and around Elsinore. We lived there for a while before moving back to North Carolina where my dad is from. At one time my dad owned a tavern called the Star Light in Piedmont. He had this song on the jukebox there. I listened to it growing up all the time, it reminds me of the stories my mom told me about her growing in that area.

  • @gotitans1010 Doniphan Rules

  • @morganmonty2 It's not about Poplar Bluff, it's about 40 miles from Poplar Bluff.

The one good thing about The Bluff is it's a great place to go for shopping and entertainment when you live out in the sticks, or in one of the little 1 horse towns around there.
