A holographic projection. The hologram was created by filming a robot figure using a standard digital camera against a green screen, then imported into Adobe After Effects 7. Here I masked out the green screen to leave just the robot and applied some effects to turn it in to a hologram. After that I created a scene in 3Ds Max for the hologram to stand on them all brought together in After Effects.

  • Cheers. This was actualy created to:

    a) practice green screen which is why the robot, and

    b) prictice a camera track, hence the woboly camera.

needless to say i failed at both

  • looks more like a computer trick!

  • @FirewallAndFlush lol yeah, there's plenty of that sort of TV trope. What personally grates me is galactic scale civilisations that can build intragalactic starship whose radio transmissions are still susceptible to static. Or ships with planet busting weapons with sick bays that can't cure basic things like burns are pretty crappy too.

  • I can do that with 3DS Max.

  • not bad

but try and use the same fuckin backdrop and not leave on so much of the shitty background.

    douche

  • Wow. thats pretty cool :D

  • : D What's with these dopes going "Waste of Time"?

They wouldn't know the basics of the material editor

if it were given to them in a simple step by step manual.

  • it's a nice animation, if you made a short film or something to put it in people might be more appreciative of your work

also, anyone with the technology to make a hologram has the technology to stabilize an image.. the whole wobbly hologram idea is so 1980's...

  • actully sorry, maybe it would of just been better to put an metal texture look where those panal were. Makes it look nicer.
