All these "gurus" who say we are Consciousness cause more confusion than clarity. Nisargadatta said "Believe me when I tell you that you are the pure Awareness IN WHICH Consciousness and it's endless contents arise". When we sleep at night there's no Consciousness, when we wake up in the morning there's Consciousness, Consciousness comes and goes and it all takes place not in Consciousness but in Awareness. While these are only words, yet they do not point to the same non thing..

@Moreofthesamez You're merely intellectualizing. You know ABOUT "enlightenment" through Nisargadatta's words, but BELIEVING IN a spiritual authority's words is a complete misunderstanding of what's required to truly grasp this great subject-matter. The semantics and/or diction of Nisargadatta are irrelevant, What you are doing is imposing Nisargadatta's language over mine. You need to understand each Teacher within their own context, not superimpose one set of ideas upon another. Love, David

If only Consciousness exists; why not just accept anything and everything? Why complain about anything in duality?

@iladas Because anything and everything is not always optimal. Secondly, one should change things for the better because we have choice and directed action to make things better. Go back and think deeply on my previous responses. You seem to be really caught up in a dilemma and not want to think through it.

@Blufire48 Yes if I am cold and want to be warmer then yes of course it makes perfect sense. However if the people in the next village want to remain cold and seem to have no concept of what warmth is I might not want to change that unless perhaps there was momentum moving in the direction of change

@iladas What do you mean by "seek to change anything in duality?" If you feel cold, can you not see why you would want to change that into becoming warmer? I am not sure I understand your question.

@iladas We have no choice but to act in relativity because duality is real. Action is brought on compulsorily by multiplicity itself, by the body. It's one thing to understand/Realize that  "There is only Consciousness." It's quite another to expect that understanding - and Realization - to change the nature of the relative world. Of course, the world is changed in Realization, but that transformation of the world's nature is within the space of Sacred Attention or the Heart. Namaste, David

@Blufire48 Yes I understand but my question is even in knowing this....even in knowing that duality exists not at a separate entity but rather within consciousness itself....why do we still seek to change anything in duality?

@iladas It was clearly explained in this video that duality is real on its own level and continues to exist. Peace, David
