A Journey Into Darkness
Jonathan Yates is a young army officer conducting work within the deserts of the Southwestern United States. He is a diligent and hard worker, very disciplined and mild-mannered. His leisure activities on the weekends are usually outdoor focused - camping, hiking, etc. He takes his latest weekend off to hike around Picacho Peak State Park in Arizona, about 30 minutes out of Tucson.
He travels two hours to reach the site, and discovers that the park has been closed for the summer. Not one to waste his afternoon, he takes his chances and ventures forth.
Once he arrives near the summit, however, he discovers that there are unseen and unspoken horrors within the desert. There's a reason the area has been closed.
The end of the film features some amazing twists that will make you keep the lights on when you go to bed.
please note that I told my pops I would record my latest mountain climb with the helmet camera he bought me for my birthday, which lead me to record my ascent (OR DESCENT INTO THE ABYSS)... I don't normally record dialogue with myself during day to day activities. Although, I should start; maybe I'll create more horror masterpieces.
