Metalslug4, Level 1

Alright! Got a new computer, and I'm able to screen capture once again.

Metalslug 4 is considered by many to be the worst of the series, but I disagree (MS5 holds that title, as far as I'm concerned). Metalslug 3 was the most polished, original, and imaginative of the series, a production the folks at SNK put alot of extra time and effort into. Therefore expectations were very high and it's not surprising MS4 was not well recieved by the masses. Despite a rushed deadline, and a few glitches, MS4 is actually a very good play. Some of the environments and situations may be recycled, but the physics and gameplay are quite original, with newly introduced weapons, music, characters, and a new scoring system. You even get to be a monkey in the last level! MS4 will "grow on you", and I consider it at par, if not better than MetalslugX. And it's difficult. Really difficult! Enemies throw everything but the kitchen sink at you in this game.

TIPS:

-At character selection, don't pick Trevor. His slash attack may look flashy, but it lacks range and for a moment he can't move, which leaves you open to attack.

-Any time you recieve double machineguns, keep em! They're the most powerfull weapon in your arsenal.

I hate how people think this game is weakest, its my personal favourite =). I also agree with you Yasko, I don't like 5 much either.

I thought the plot and Medal system were interesting, but I thought the game upped the difficulty in a cheap way...Wasn't this the one that SNK wasn't entirely involved in?

But you have to be more patient!

I think that MS4 is the worst... It has some strange flaws and the medal system is really awkward...

But you give good points for your opinion, so I respect it!

In my opinion, MS3 is the best, but I love MS2 the most...

P.S.: If you want a real challenge, try any Metal Slug at difficulty 8 (max possible), with ONE LIFE and without continue...

Umm, I kinda like Metal Slug 4, but when you replace Eri and Tarma for somebody else, it kinda messes the game up for me. They should've kept Eri and Tarma and just put Trevor and Nadia altogether. Also, despite the Morden in this game ia a robot, at least his army is in the game.

Overall:

Metal Slug 4 < Metal Slug 5

But I respect your opinion, and this game is still important to the series as it introduces the Twin Machine Guns and the Combo System which were used later in Metal Slug 6.

this level's song is NIIIICE, and metal slug has kicked ass since 1996, and still kicks ass, although it's kinda a comic copy of contra, it still kicks so much ass, nice playing dude
