@yeriaf "Rail" track as opposed to what? The Acela high-speed train in the northeast USA does 150mph on "rail" tracks. And the French TGV in Europe is capable of over 300mph on regular rail tracks.
If your referring to magnetic levitation, that technology will never become commonplace as it is far to inefficient and expensive to maintain.

99 is the maximum speed read out by the hotbox scanner.... the GE Genesis can be geared to run up to 110...
