In the Gents! A manual one, very old! LNER / Victorian.
As you can see, the trough has smelly water in it as people haven't noticed this is a manual one. There is a ridge at the plug hole end keeping the water in! The downpipe feeds two jet holes which almost shoot out of the trough. Next, the wave of water goes down the pipe into ANOTHER trough draining in the other direction! So the cleaner (or drunkard) can flood the floor and it all goes down the same plughole! Oh, not to mention the roof rainwater run off @ 0:18 which enters the top trough at a rather high point!).

  • I shot this exact same urinal, but with my phone camera so it wasn't as good quality as this. I have to agree it is very fascinating.

  • Very different from the average gents trough, so gents when you go to use one of these, you have 2 choices of where to piss, the top trough or the bottom trough, for those who choose the top trough be careful not to hit the wall n those who choose the bottom trough be careful not to hit the floor or it will spatter on your shoes lol. And if the valve bursts run for your life!!! lol

  • this is either at quorn or at rothley station on the Great Central Railway.

  • I have never seen a urinal that flushes with a high tank cistern...amazing!

  • @ramdomness453 where are these?

  • What a marvellous noise. They don't make 'em like that now.The old loos at Lewes railway station in Sussex were victorian, and though they all had different cast-iron cisterns, all were shockingly noisy.Sadly swept away during so-called "improvements"

  • so cool!

  • What an ancient thing that is!But effective. They used to have one on my grandparents caravan site like that.
