Why do this? Simply twist the lens very slightly.
To step it down, set the Aperture in Av or M, then just do the same while holding down the DOF preview.

but in bright sunlight the sutterspeed will go ridiculously fast, giving it a uneven look. That's why we have ND filters. The 180 degree rule is good to follow; witch says that the denominator in the shutterspeed scould be twice the frame rate. Example: 30 fps schould be around 1/60 second shutterspeed.

Actually you CAN shoot pics, just go to the settings and enable "Release Shutter without Lens" or something.

just wondering dose this hurt the lens cause you shorting out electrical contact?? and thanks cause the thing were you set the aperture and twist the lens doesn't work for me cause the camera doesn't set the other setting so it's alway over or under exposed :) so thx

Thank you! This is fantastic. So easy to do. So... When are you going to post another video on setting aperture value to f/2.8 or f/3.5? Is it the same as everyone else where you set aperture in AV mode and then twist lens to disconnect contact?

no ive tried AV mode and it doesnt work in my camera... i dont no y! almost completed the video of setting aperture in different video!
