Jingoists ( Storage Hunters - Sports Memorabilia bid )

Sports jingoism.. A lot of money to be made here, why care which team? It's a SPORTS TEAM! they don't represent anything right or wrong. To take to litteral hate of other teams for no other real reason than they are "not my team"? Why?

The guy who won the bid is not a victim to this mentality or maybe money just means more to him.. But what can you say of some of these other people and his wife? The groupthink "my team, your team", mentality, can be 'fun' on a superficial level but when it's taken to the practical or the fundamental level it's pathetic..

Compare and contrast sports team pride, city pride, state pride, national pride, Left versus Right, ethnic pride, cultural pride.. Lets learn to view from a culturally neutral light. In the light of the human race as a whole, in the light of equality and liberty, we see how silly some of this crap can be.

@zorros78 Good point, I find it very funny. They admit to researching the storage owners beforehand. Though I have wondered if the show maybe rigged beyond that even for drama.

@batmanthe it wouldnt suprise me. sometimes shows will do that maybe they even threw the yankee stuff together.I showed this to my friend who is a boston fan and he said he would buy it if it meant money.
